Dibble, dibble, dop. Dibble, dibble, dop, dop!

For those of you who have difficulty with change, I have great news for you — it’s still raining and it’s still cold!  Yes, spring did officially arrive a week ago but no worries, it looks like you can count on a continuation of winter’s cold and wet weather for a bit longer.  Gotta run some errands or dress for work, no need to get your panties in a wad over what to wear, you can still pull out your fav winter garb without worrying about overheating.  Coat, well of course!  Umbrella, yes indeedy!

Yes, it is a GREAT day here in the Pacific Northwest!  We are thankfully  spared (at least temporarily) from pulling out last year’s spring/summerwear  which can be a rude awakening for some.  Though it’s common knowledge that frequently clothes lying dormant all winter, diminish in size,  it nevertheless tends to shock and offend the best of us.

No here in the Northwest folks are still stoking their fires and pleased they chose heated seats in their latest car purchase.  Driving by Cold Stone Ice Creamery?  Ahhh … relax and be assured you won’t be tempted to blow the diet with  utterly delicious but most likely unneeded calories.  This continued weather pattern also is a money-saver.   Go ahead, feel smug.  It’s one of the benefits of living here.  While other folks are busy spending money on new bathing suits, shorts, summer dresses, sandals and stocking up on sun tan lotion, our wallets, though not bulging, are certainly not diminishing.

So today I invite all you fellow Northwester’s to join me as I celebrate the continuation of cold, wet winter weather.  Smile and bear it with pride!  We are a unique people, now let’s get out there and act like it!

Hakuna Matata!   Pura Vida!

I’d believe every word if it weren’t dripping with sarcasm, Debbie. Great post, and I share your sarcastic sentiments, however, I believe you get to go south soon, whereas, I will stay here and keep the home fires burning.

How clever of you! Yes, it was “tongue in cheek” — and yes, I am anxiously awaiting our departure to warmer lands. If you can find a suitcase in which you fit, you’re welcome to come along!

Well here in NZ we are moving into autumn but like you, we have rain, rain and even more rain. We were teased with a lovely autumn day on Sunday but since then it has rained.
Unlike you, we are digging out those winter clothes and yes, because they have be lying dormant for several months, they have shrunk! I thought that if I ate salads ad nauseum in the summer months my winter clothes would fit me. Ah woe is me.

    Loved this! My sentiments exactly.
